Amarion Mitchell, 22, a Black/African American male from Jacksonville, was shot on May 26, 2025, outside his apartment at the Westwood Apartments on Lane Avenue South in the city’s Westside/Normandy Village area. Officers found him with multiple gunshot wounds; Jacksonville Fire and Rescue rushed him to a hospital in critical condition, and he died several days later.
