Eric Thompson, 31, a Black/African American man, was found shot to death on the morning of August 18, 2025, inside an apartment at the Clear Creek Apartments in Lavonia, Georgia. Officers were dispatched at 8:53 a.m. for a report of a gunshot victim and discovered him in a unit within the 200 building; the Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to assist as the complex became an active crime scene.
