Andrew Douglas, 76, male, was shot once in the neck inside his home in the 12300 block of Baypointe Terrace in the Cortez/Bradenton area of Manatee County just before noon on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Deputies arrived to find his 35-year-old son, Ian Douglas, rendering aid. Paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but Andrew was pronounced dead at 12:20 p.m. at the scene.
