On a Saturday night in Hampton, Georgia, a 16-year-old male named Zion Barrett was with his brother when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred on September 6, 2025, near the intersection of Paladin Drive and Trafalgar Way. Responding Clayton County officers found the teenager unresponsive around 10 p.m. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. Family members described Zion, a student at Lovejoy High School, as an ambitious young man with a bright future who worked at McDonald's to save money for a car.
