Jason Demar Robinson, a 42-year-old Black man, was shot on the evening of August 10, 2025, at an ARCO gas station on the 800 block of Leisure Town Road in Vacaville. Officers responding around 7:40 p.m. found him inside the convenience store with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities later identified him as being from San Francisco.
Investigators said a woman was detained at the scene and a firearm was recovered.
Through interviews and early casework, police determined the man and woman had previously been in a romantic relationship and that a violent confrontation had occurred just before the shooting. The woman told investigators she fired in self-defense.
