Frederick Hampton Jr., a 26-year-old Black male, was found mortally wounded on the night of September 20, 2025, after Savannah police were dispatched by a ShotSpotter alert to the 1200 block of Rogers Street around 9:20 p.m. Officers attempted lifesaving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Chatham County Coroner’s Office publicly identified him as the victim in the days that followed, confirming his age and the location of the shooting.
