On the evening of August 6, 2025, in the quiet Highpoint Mobile Home Park in Frederica, Delaware, a welfare check led to a grim discovery that shattered the community's sense of peace. Responding to a call just before 11 p.m., Delaware State Police troopers entered a residence on Lorna Drive to find a tragic scene. Inside, they found 81-year-old Linda Hyman, a Caucasian female, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Alongside her was the body of 18-year-old Ethan Christensen, who had
also succumbed to fatal gunshot injuries. The third individual found was 53-year-old Staci Marie Christensen, who died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. All three were residents of Frederica. The investigation by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit quickly determined the incident to be a murder-suicide, with Staci Marie Christensen identified as the suspect responsible for the deaths of Linda Hyman and Ethan Christensen before taking her own life.
Linda Lou Hyman was born in West Virginia on June 20, 1944. She had moved to Montgomery County with her family at the age of 18 and married Robert Ellington Hyman in 1963. They primarily resided in Rockville. In her leisure time, she found joy in crafting, playing dominoes, and cherishing moments with her family, particularly her grandchildren. Her life, however, was marked by the profound loss of her husband, Robert, and her daughters, Vicki Hyman and Staci Christensen, as well as a grandson, Ethan Christensen.
The investigation into the tragic event remains active as detectives continue to piece together the circumstances that led to the devastating loss of three lives. Authorities have encouraged anyone with information regarding the case to come forward to assist in providing a clearer understanding of the events that transpired.
