On the evening of September 14, 2025, deputies were called to the 28000 block of Wells Fargo Lane in Lake Elsinore for reports of an assault with a deadly weapon. They found Brian Rivas, 38, male, of Lake Elsinore suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, Brian Rivas, 38, male, was pronounced dead at the scene as paramedics arrived and detectives from the Central Homicide Unit assumed the case.
