Jeannessa Caillean Lurie, a 24-year-old White female from San Jose, was killed in the early morning hours of September 16, 2025, during a triple shooting at a home on the 200 block of Chynoweth Avenue. Police received multiple 911 calls about gunfire and a woman screaming just after 12:25 a.m. Officers found one woman outside with gunshot wounds who later died at a hospital; inside, they discovered another woman deceased and a man who later succumbed to his injuries. The victims were identified in court documents and subsequent reporting as Jeannessa Lurie, her roommate Tarrah Lynn Taylor, 26, and Jeannessa’s boyfriend, Max Ryan, 26.
Detectives quickly focused on 27-year-old Joseph Charles Vicencio, who was arrested the next day and charged with murder.
