On the night of June 30, 2025, Ramon Moraga, a 20-year-old male, was with his 21-year-old fiancée, Nadia Mysliwiec, in Scottsdale, Arizona, for what was supposed to be a simple sale of vape cartridges. The couple was seated in their parked vehicle near 115th Street and East Sahuaro Drive for a planned meetup when the encounter turned violent. The individuals they met allegedly intended to rob them from the start.
In a sudden turn of events, the supposed buyers brandished a firearm,
escalating the transaction into an armed robbery. In an attempt to escape the dangerous situation, Moraga tried to drive away. It was then that the suspects allegedly opened fire on the vehicle. The car, now without a driver in control, rolled into a nearby ditch. The gunshots proved to be fatal for Moraga, who died at the scene. Mysliwiec sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, but she later succumbed to her wounds.
The Scottsdale Police Department immediately launched an investigation, piecing together the events of that tragic night. Detectives and crime scene specialists collected evidence from the scene, and through their investigation, they identified three suspects. On July 29, about a month after the killings, police executed several search warrants across the Phoenix metropolitan area. During these searches, investigators found evidence that linked the suspects to the homicides.
The investigation led to the arrests of 18-year-old Lebron Rogers and two other juveniles. Evidence that helped confirm the connection between the victims and the suspects included information from the mobile payment service Cash App, which showed a transaction between them. The suspects now face serious charges, including two counts of murder and two counts of armed robbery with a deadly weapon. Rogers was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and held on a one-million-dollar cash-only bond, while the two juveniles were taken into custody.
