On March 26, 2018, a tragic incident unfolded along California’s Highway 1 in Mendocino County when an SUV carrying a family plunged over a 100‑foot cliff. Among the deceased were two women—both aged 38—and their six adopted children, including Ciera Hart, a 12‑year‑old African‑American girl. The SUV came to rest upside down on a beach below the cliff.
