In September 2009, the quiet town of Farmville, Virginia, was shattered by a horrific act of violence that claimed the life of 18-year-old Melanie Wells and three others. Melanie, a white female who had been staying with her friend Emma Niederbrock, became an unsuspecting victim in a brutal quadruple homicide. The tragedy unfolded at the home of Debra Kelley, Emma's mother, where the girls were hosting a visitor from California, 20-year-old Richard Samuel McCroskey III.
