Nathaniel Cater, a 27-year-old Black male, was found dead on May 24, 1981, in the Chattahoochee River near Atlanta, Georgia. His body was discovered by two youths in canoes, lying partially submerged near the riverbank, close to the Interstate 285 bridge.
