Angelina Hopkins, a 23-year-old Black woman, disappeared after a summer night out in the Hudson Valley, leaving behind a silence that only grew louder as days passed and no one could say for sure where she had gone. On July 20, 1992, she and her cousin, Brenda Whiteside, were at the Blue Note Tavern in Poughkeepsie. Near the end of the night, witnesses placed them leaving the bar in a pickup truck with a man they had met there.
