Deborah Williams, a 28‑year‑old Black female from Los Angeles, California, was found dead on November 16, 1992, in a stairwell leading down to a boiler room at the 97th Street School in the Vermont‑Vista neighborhood of South Los Angeles. Her body, determined to be that of a young Black woman, was discovered in a secluded area late that night. The manner of death was homicide, with evidence later confirming strangulation as the cause.
