Betty Jo Richards, a **17‑year‑old white female**, was murdered in Quinton, Walker County, Alabama, on **July 16, 1972**. Her body was discovered in an alley, having suffered more than ten stab wounds. Witnesses reported she had been chased by a white man while screaming, and last seen entering the alley before she was found dead.
