On June 30, 1973, Sylvia Ann Torgerson, a 3-year-old white female from Austin, Minnesota, was tragically murdered in what would later be revealed as part of a mass killing carried out by her father, David James Torgerson. Sylvia was one of several victims in a horrific incident that unfolded in Rochester, Minnesota, where multiple members of the Torgerson family and a live-in babysitter were found dead. The method of killing was strangulation, and the deaths occurred on the same day.
