Larry Box, a 24-year-old Black male, was fatally stabbed during the early hours of Sunday, March 14, 2010, after a domestic dispute inside a northeast Las Vegas home on the 3900 block of Gulliver Street, near Alexander and Walnut roads. Police were called just before 1 a.m. and found Box mortally wounded; the confrontation, according to the arrest report later summarized by local media, began after the couple returned home and escalated into violence in front of family members.
Investigators said Box’s fiancée, 23-year-old Jessica Carter, told officers the argument turned physical, that a sister tried to intervene, and that she then took a knife from the kitchen and swung it while confronting Box. Las Vegas police arrested Carter on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon; at that time she was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and held without bail as the case moved forward.
