On August 18, 2001, the body of Bernadine Blunt, a 39-year-old Black woman, was discovered inside an abandoned building located at 331 East Kensington Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. She had been strangled to death, and her murder was later linked to a string of similar killings that occurred in the city during the summer of 2001.
