Cynthia Halk, a 38-year-old white female, was found dead on July 29, 2001, in Chicago, Illinois. Her partially clothed body was discovered inside a garbage can in an alley near Clark and Division Streets. At the time of her death, Halk was known to struggle with drug addiction and was involved in sex work. She had also been diagnosed with epilepsy, which affected her ability to maintain employment, though she remained active in caring for her grandchildren.
