On October 26, 1975, the body of 27-year-old white female Marlene Joy Annabelli was discovered in a remote area west of Cooper City, Florida. Her remains were partially concealed beneath discarded plywood in a brushy location, suggesting an attempt to hide the crime. Investigators determined that Marlene, who was originally from Reading, Pennsylvania but residing in Fort Lauderdale, had been beaten and strangled to death.
