This particular stretch of road was known as a hunting ground for the Green River Killer, a fact that cast an immediate and terrifying light on Deborah's case. The fear that history was repeating itself was palpable, as Deborah's younger sister, Cheryl Lee Wims, was one of the confirmed victims of Gary Ridgway, the man who terrorized the Seattle area for years.
