On July 20, 1978, 34-year-old white female Sharon Vaughn was found dead from a single shotgun wound to the chest at her home in Copperas Cove, Texas. At the time, her death was ruled a suicide, and no autopsy was performed. The incident occurred just one day after her divorce from her husband, Jack Wayne Reeves, had been finalized.
