James L. Sires was a 59-year-old male service station operator in Beaufort County, South Carolina, when his life was cut short in a brutal robbery on August 10, 1970. Genealogical records place his birth on November 24, 1910, and show that he would later be buried at Beaufort Memorial Gardens, a short distance from the community he served.
