Jim Ralph Gianera, a 25-year-old Caucasian male, was tragically murdered on January 25, 1973, in Santa Cruz, California. Gianera was a high school friend of Herbert Mullin, a notorious serial killer who terrorized the region during the early 1970s. On the day of the murder, Mullin shot and stabbed Gianera along with his wife, Joan K. Foster, in a brutal attack.
