On October 14, 2014, 63-year-old African American woman Anna Lawson was found dead in her home on East Sherman Boulevard in Muskegon Heights, Michigan. Her death was one of two homicides discovered that morning; 62-year-old African American woman Judy Bushman was also found deceased in her residence just blocks away on Wood Street. Both women were known to have been acquainted with the suspect, Leon Means.
