On January 5, 2025, Briontea Ldedrick Bernard Edwards, a 33-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in southern Dallas. The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. in the 5300 block of Botham Jean Blvd. Edwards was found inside a parked car, having sustained gunshot wounds inflicted by an unknown suspect.
