The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. near the intersection of Hopkins Street and Hampton Avenue. Williams, affectionately known as “Big Hurk,” was pronounced dead at the scene. Another 37-year-old male victim succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a hospital, while a third victim, a 34-year-old, sustained injuries but is expected to recover.
Williams was a beloved figure in his community, known for his dedication to youth mentorship and his role as a coach for the CLE Panthers youth football team. He was a father of seven children and was deeply involved in guiding and supporting young athletes in Milwaukee. His colleagues and community members described him as a “gentle giant” with a contagious smile and a big heart. His mother, Yvette Wright, expressed that he died doing what he loved—protecting others. His sister, Pauline Harrington, emphasized his love for his family and community.
In the aftermath of the shooting, family and friends organized a vigil outside the club to honor Williams’s memory. Candles, photos, and balloons were displayed as the community gathered to mourn the loss of a man who had a significant impact on many lives.
