In the afternoon hours of April 18, 2025, the life of 39-year-old Barney Kittles Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short in Newport News, Virginia. Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of 35th Street around 3:15 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Kittles suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
