In the quiet community of Hartford, Vermont, the life of a young man, Jonathan Carpenter, came to a tragic end on January 19, 2025. The 22-year-old male from Amherst, Massachusetts, was found with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head in a residence on Fairbanks Turn in Quechee. Emergency services responded to a report of the shooting at approximately 2 p.m. and transported him to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
