On January 10, 2025, Cleveland police discovered the body of 41-year-old Melton Peoples III inside a basement on East 78th Street. The victim, a Black male, had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the back. Authorities launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, ultimately identifying a suspect in the case.
