On the evening of January 21, 2025, a tragic drive-by shooting occurred in the 900 block of Seibel Lane in West Price Hill, Cincinnati, just after 9:00 PM. According to initial emergency reports, a pickup truck drove past a house and fired multiple shots inside. Eighteen-year-old Dewey Christopher Curtis Jr. was one of two victims in the shooting.
Both victims were transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center by Cincinnati Fire Department crews.
Despite medical intervention, Dewey Curtis succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The second victim, whose identity was not released by authorities, was treated and reported to be in stable condition.
The Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit led the investigation into the shooting. At the time of initial reports, no suspect information had been released to the public, and police were actively seeking information from the community. Dewey Christopher Curtis Jr. was born on March 28, 2006, in Cincinnati, Ohio. A memorial service was scheduled for February 17, 2025, at the Walker Funeral Home - Walnut Hills Chapel on Gilbert Avenue, with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed immediately by the funeral service. His final resting place was arranged at Vine Street Hill Cemetery on Vine Street in Cincinnati.
