Shawn Rouse, a 38-year-old African American man from Wendell, North Carolina, was shot and killed on February 1, 2025, while making deliveries for DoorDash. The tragic incident occurred in the 6200 block of Stag Trail, a neighborhood off Edgemont Road near Wendell. Authorities responded to reports of a shooting and found Rouse in the driver’s seat of his vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rouse was a devoted husband and father of eight children.
