Kenneth Joshua Moore, a 32-year-old man from Adrian, Pennsylvania, tragically lost his life on January 8, 2025. Moore, who was born on December 14, 1992, in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, was well known in his community for his dedication to his family and his passion for demolition derby racing. He was a father of two and operated his own business, Ken's Trees and Debris LLC.

Authorities reported that Moore was one of two victims in a fatal shooting that occurred in Washington Township, Armstrong County. The suspect, 56-year-old Scott Shaffer, allegedly invited Moore and another victim, 27-year-old Gregory Samosky, to his home after spending time together at Ruby's Den Burgers and Spirits. Upon arriving at his residence, Shaffer reportedly retrieved an SKS-style rifle and instructed his 18-year-old daughter to remain downstairs. According to police interviews, Shaffer's daughter heard him loading the weapon before the victims arrived.
Shortly after Moore and Samosky entered the home, Shaffer's daughter fell asleep, only to be awakened by her father, who allegedly admitted to killing both men and sought her assistance in hiding the weapon. She refused and immediately contacted emergency services. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, where they discovered Moore and Samosky deceased inside the home. Shaffer was taken into custody and later confessed to the killings during police questioning. A search of the residence uncovered the rifle used in the crime along with multiple shell casings.
Shaffer has been charged with criminal homicide in connection with the deaths of Moore and Samosky. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the killings, but sources indicate that Shaffer was acquainted with both victims. The tragic incident has deeply affected the local community, as Moore was widely regarded as a hardworking and well-liked individual.
