Gregory Samosky, a 27-year-old man from Adrian, Pennsylvania, was tragically killed on January 8, 2025. The incident occurred at the home of 56-year-old Scott Shaffer in Washington Township, Armstrong County. According to reports, Shaffer invited Samosky and another victim, 32-year-old Kenneth Moore, to his residence after they had spent time together at Ruby's Den Burgers and Spirits. Shaffer arrived at his home before the two men and retrieved an SKS-style rifle.
He instructed his 18-year-old daughter to remain downstairs in her bedroom and not to come upstairs.
Shaffer's daughter later told investigators that she heard her father loading the rifle before the victims arrived. After falling asleep, she was awakened by Shaffer, who informed her that he had killed both men and asked for her assistance in hiding the weapon. She refused and immediately called 911. When authorities arrived, they discovered Samosky and Moore deceased inside the home. Samosky was found on the living room couch, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while Moore was facedown on the floor with at least one gunshot wound.
Shaffer was taken into custody at the scene and later confessed to the killings. A search of the residence uncovered the rifle used in the crime along with numerous shell casings. Authorities confirmed that Shaffer was acquainted with both victims. He has been charged with criminal homicide and remains in custody as the investigation continues.
