The discovery was made by Connor's maternal grandfather, who, concerned after a day of unanswered calls, visited the family's home on Keck Lane around 11:30 p.m. Inside, he found the bodies of his daughter, 32-year-old Karen Swarner; her husband, 35-year-old Paul Swarner; and their two children, 5-year-old Evelyn and 18-month-old Connor, all in the same room.
Preliminary investigations by the Pennsylvania State Police indicate that Paul Swarner fatally shot his wife and two children before taking his own life with a Ruger. 22 caliber handgun found at the scene.
