In the early morning hours of February 8, 2025, in east Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of 18-year-old Arturo Dogollado was tragically cut short. The incident unfolded around 1:30 a.m. at an apartment complex near 11800 E. 21st Street, where a hail of gunfire erupted in what investigators would later describe as an ambush-style attack. When police arrived at the scene, they found four teenagers had been shot.
Arturo Dogollado, a male, and another 18-year-old, Jett Brummett, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, were transported to a local hospital with gunshot wounds but were expected to recover.
Arturo, known to his loved ones as 'Junior,' was remembered as a happy and loving person who had his whole life ahead of him. His family described him as soft-spoken, respectful, and having a good heart that would brighten any room. A student at East Central High School, Arturo had a passion for music, enjoying both listening to his favorite songs and creating his own melodies. According to a witness, his final words were a message of love to those he held dear.
The investigation into the double homicide led to multiple arrests. Christopher Atjun, 18, turned himself in to the authorities on the Saturday following the shooting and confessed to his involvement. He was subsequently charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill. In the months that followed, another suspect, 19-year-old Angel Ibarra, was apprehended. Ibarra was taken into custody in Mexico in April 2025 by Homeland Security Investigations for his alleged role in the shooting deaths of Arturo Dogollado and Jett Brummett. Reports indicated that two other suspects had been arrested prior to Ibarra's capture.
