On April 3, 2025, authorities arrested 24-year-old Davon Mackin in connection with the shooting. According to court documents, Mackin used a handgun to shoot into the vehicle that Wesley was driving near an apartment complex off Freedom Drive. Mackin has been charged with murder and related firearm offenses.
