Lorenzio Sean Galloway, a 14-year-old Native American male, tragically lost his life on April 12, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Lorenzio, affectionately known as "Sean," was a proud member of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska and deeply connected to his heritage. He was an honor roll student at South Scioto Performance Academy and had a passion for football, excelling as a quarterback in Little League.
His love for the sport extended to his favorite teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Beyond athletics, Lorenzio enjoyed cooking and spending time with his large, close-knit family.
On the evening of April 12, Lorenzio was driving a Honda sedan when he was fatally shot. The vehicle had been reported stolen, though authorities have not disclosed when or where it was taken. The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of East 12th Avenue and Cleveland Avenue in the South Linden neighborhood of Columbus. After sustaining a gunshot wound, Lorenzio crashed the vehicle. Columbus police arrived at the scene and found him behind the wheel, critically injured. He was transported to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries at 8:20 p.m.
As of now, police have not identified any suspects or a motive for the shooting. Investigators continue to search for leads, but no arrests have been made in connection with Lorenzio’s death. His passing has left his family, friends, and community devastated, as they remember him for his vibrant spirit and kind heart. His loved ones, including his parents, siblings, and extended family, mourn his loss and seek justice for the young Native American male whose life was cut short far too soon.
