In the summer of 2024, a 33-year-old male named Paul Joseph Lalonde from Ferndale, Washington, disappeared, leaving his vehicle behind at the On the Run truck stop in Belfield, North Dakota, on July 7th. His whereabouts remained a mystery for months, prompting a missing person investigation. The search for Lalonde came to a sad conclusion on October 25, 2024, when his remains were discovered along the south side of Interstate 94, approximately two miles west of Belfield.
