In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Greenville, Mississippi, tragedy struck, leaving the community with the first homicide of the new year. On January 5, 2025, at approximately 11 p.m., officers from the Greenville Police Department were called to the 900 block of South Shelby following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered 54-year-old Albert Davis Jr. inside his vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency services transported Davis to Delta Health Systems, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead by the hospital staff. The male victim, a resident of Greenville, became the subject of an intense investigation as detectives began to process the evidence and seek out leads in the case.
As the investigation continues, no arrests have been announced in connection with the shooting death of Albert Davis Jr. Authorities have appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of those responsible. Funeral services for Davis were held on January 25, 2025, at the Grace Outreach Bible Church in Greenville, with his burial following at Lakewood Cemetery.
