In the coastal city of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, the life of 35-year-old Lionel 'LB' Bradley was cut short in a burst of violence on a Sunday morning. On February 9, 2025, police responded to a call at 9:16 a.m. in the 400 block of St. George Street, where they discovered Bradley suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
Known affectionately as 'LB,' Lionel was a beloved son, brother,
and friend within his community. Born on August 20, 1989, he was a proud native of Bay St. Louis, having attended St. Stanislaus and Bay St. Louis schools where he cultivated lifelong friendships. He was known for his dedication and reliability in his work for Richie Santiago and King Waste Co., but it was his kind heart, generosity, and an unforgettable big smile that left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His family was the center of his world, and he, in turn, was a bright light in their lives, always bringing joy, laughter, and love.
The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to a suspect, Brendin Pitts of Carriere. Authorities believe that an argument between Pitts and Bradley escalated, leading Pitts to fire multiple shots at Bradley before fleeing the scene. Officers from the Bay St. Louis and Waveland Police Departments, along with the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, located Pitts a few blocks away from the scene of the shooting and took him into custody.
Following his arrest, Brendin Pitts was charged with one count of murder. He was subsequently booked into the Hancock County Jail, where he is being held on a $1 million bond. While the motive for the fatal argument has not been publicly released, the investigation into the tragic death of Lionel Bradley remains ongoing. The case has yet to proceed to trial, and no conviction has been announced.
