In a quiet southwest Las Vegas home, the life of 73-year-old Eun Jin La, an Asian male, came to a tragic and unexpected end on the evening of February 5, 2025. What was initially reported as a man unconscious and not breathing, and even initially assessed by medical personnel as a death from natural causes, would soon unfold into a homicide investigation.
Responding police officers felt the circumstances were suspicious and upon further investigation, it was discovered that Eun Jin La had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
The investigation quickly focused on a suspect close to home: his 35-year-old son, Timothy Sahrang La, who lived at the residence with his parents. Timothy was apprehended by police while walking in the neighborhood shortly after the discovery of his father's body. A 9mm handgun and a shell casing were recovered at the scene, further cementing the authorities' belief that this was a violent crime.
During questioning, the case took a bizarre turn as Timothy La offered a strange explanation for his actions. He claimed to police that "aliens" had told him to kill his father and that he felt as though he was on a "different planet." He also stated that he believed he was "saving" a "worker" who was being tortured and was "wearing the skin of his father's face." His mother had informed investigators that her son had a "medical condition," though the specifics of this condition were not publicly disclosed. Timothy Sahrang La was subsequently arrested and charged with open murder in the death of his father.
