James Campbell Jr., a 23-year-old man from Simmesport, Louisiana, tragically lost his life on January 2, 2025, in a fatal shooting. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Kermit Street at approximately 9:02 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Campbell Jr. deceased at the scene, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Another individual was also injured in the incident and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
