A recent move to Nebraska for work ended in tragedy for a young white woman, 24-year-old Billie S. Meadows of Georgia. On Saturday, April 12, 2025, what was initially reported as a traffic crash near North Bend, Nebraska, at the intersection of Highway 30 and County Road 5, was discovered to be a grim scene of violence. First responders found Meadows covered in blood, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Meadows was immediately transported to Methodist Fremont Health and later
transferred to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries. The incident is being investigated as an act of domestic violence.
Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting. Bryan K. Jeselink, 39, of Texas, was taken into custody. Investigators have determined that Jeselink and Meadows were in a domestic relationship for over a year and had relocated to the Columbus, Nebraska, area for employment purposes just two weeks prior to the fatal incident.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office has stated that there is no ongoing threat to the public and that they are diligently working to ensure the person responsible is held accountable. An investigation is ongoing, with authorities asking anyone who may have witnessed or heard anything unusual in the area at the time of the incident to come forward with information.
