Darryl Kenneth Scott, a 32-year-old Black man, was found in the street in the Beverly Hills neighborhood of north St. Louis County, Missouri, in the dark early hours of April 23, 2025. Police were called to the 6900 block of Greenway Avenue after reports of a person down, and when officers arrived they discovered he had been shot; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
With the killing unresolved and fear rippling through the block, the North County Police Cooperative requested help from the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis. Detectives flooded the area, working house to house and pressing for surveillance footage and witness accounts, while investigators urged anyone who knew what happened to come forward, even anonymously.
Within days, authorities announced an arrest: Arvid Wilkerson of St. Louis was taken into custody and faced a first-degree murder charge along with other firearm-related counts, prosecutors said. He was reported held at the St. Louis County Justice Center on a $500,000 cash-only bond as the case moved into the courts.
The investigation did not stop with one name. A second suspect, Keshaun O. Davison, was later charged in connection with Scott’s death; the Major Case Squad reported Davison was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action, with bond set at $500,000.
