Jajuan Marls, a 24-year-old male, was fatally shot on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Extended Stay America hotel in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The incident led to the arrest of 51-year-old Luke Svacha of Center Line.

Following the shooting, Svacha fled the hotel and returned to his home in Center Line. When police arrived, he refused to exit, leading to a standoff that lasted for several hours. Crisis negotiators communicated with Svacha through text messages in an effort to persuade ...
