On May 9, 2025, James Rodriguez, a 58-year-old Hispanic male from Kinloch, Missouri, was identified as one of three homicide victims linked to a violent crime spree in the St. Louis area. The suspect, 61-year-old James Carter of St. Louis, was killed in a shootout with law enforcement officers, including a St. Louis police officer and an ATF special agent. The other victims were Tyrone Mason, 57, and Ariel Eastling, 34, both from St. Louis.
