Robert Parker, 28, and Daelyn Abercrombie, 22, confessed to their involvement in the incident. Following his confession, Parker's charges were reduced to manslaughter, and he was granted a bond of $75,000. Abercrombie was charged as an accessory after the fact and also faced a charge of grand larceny exceeding $1,000. His bond was set at $50,000.
