Louis Balas, a 77-year-old man, and his wife Betty disappeared from their home in the Wilshire district of Los Angeles on December 13, 1980. The circumstances surrounding their disappearance are suspicious. Upon investigating their residence, authorities found the front door open, the television on, and a bathtub filled with water, but there were no signs of a struggle.
